Indian government wants Google and Facebook to censor posts.
India’s acting telecommunications minister, Kapil Sibal, asked Google, Microsoft, Yahoo and Facebook to censor content on their sites.
He cited a specific example of a page on Facebook that "maligned" Congress Party president Sonia Gandhi.
Sibal specifically requested that they use humans to screen content, not software, and that they screen it before it's posted.
Executives told Sibal the obvious, which is that he's insane and his request is impossible.
(OK, they didn't say he's insane.)
