I did not know that the US had bombed, slaughtered and used chemical weapons against its own people in 1941…
Just like +Robert Nyberg says, this comparison is silly.
The Pearl Harbor attack was a sneak attack on the US, which at the time was not currently at war with anyone. Syria, on the other hand, would be an announced strike on a regime that for the last two years have been warned of military repercussions if they committed war crimes.
If you think Japan did't have similar "justifications" that most countries deplored, you don't know history and are blindly ensconced within the US domestic media distortion field. The only winners in this are the politicians and the military who are trying to generate legitimacy. This will cause more death, and more hatred and therefore more terrorists who want to kill Americans. It will make the world a less safe place.
Robert Nyberg says
Just silly to compare that to Syrian conflict.
Nicklas Odh says
Militarily it is correct though.

Ok, so we should let people use chemical weapons on children? I am all for diplomacy, but for a guy like Assad, it will not work.
